For the record, I feel like a total badass. I left the house wearing a headscarf...I am now waiting for my host uncle (who is around my age...so like 10 years younger than my host mom) to pick me up (long story...basically she said she would do that on her way back from this part of town, then switched things around on me last minute. and since the men in the family are kind of default means of transport here, she would not HEAR of me taking a taxi when there was a perfectly good guy floating around. oh my life). And in anycase i am wearing the scarf now too. But. I did not wear it all day because it is too freakin' HOT and amazingly humid (it hasn't been humid like this before...really. I mean, I am sitting outside now as i wait for my ride and the air is SO moist and it's actually still REALLY warm even though it's almost 9 at night. But I don't want to know what the exact temperature is. I actually tune it out when other people talk about the weather. Because I do not need to know those things.
Anyway, she said he was coming at 9. But things in general seem to have their own time sched here...I don't know whether to expect him now or in two hours! But whatever. I have a coffee shop with free internet. the situation...it's not exactly dire.
I don't know...I LOVED doing my interviews but am not so much looking forward to the whole writing the essay part. I need to do it, of course, but I'm getting all restless. Bought my plane ticket today but STILL waiting to hear from the firm...I have really only gotten one email from them, the rest of the communication has been through Yale. It's just so frustrating bc I HAD to book my plane ticket before prices skyrocketed, and now I want to work on housing-even just knowing what district in casablanca the firm is located in would be great, so atleast I have a place to start looking-I mean, not that I'm convinced that the internet is the best way to find housing, but at the very least it's a start!
so yes. I am looking forward to another 'productive' work day tomorrow (although I really do plan on doing lots and lots of work then) followed by dinner with (i think) all the other students at the same place that we had dinner at the end of our last week here. awww....so full circle!
