uuggghhh one more thing from Oman that I had forgotten: unreliable internet connections! i mean, not all the time, and clarely this happens at home too from time to time, and really I shouldn't be complaining at all because I am in morocco but...still no fun.
on the plus side, I have my new bag to keep me company. It is pretty and leather and blue (who would have thought that colored leather was my thing?) with some white on the corners so it is also yale colors...because, you know, I am so spirited. I had to bargain for it-HARD-which means I walked out of the store and let them chase me down and finally agree to the price I had asked for. but it was fun.

shopping here...it's definitely a process. mostly I just enjoy looking at pretty things, or practicing language/entertaining the shopkeepers. But to be in pursuit of something specific, and not know where exactly you will find it (a lot of the touristy places in the market sell exactly the same kind of crap for tourists, so finding a SPECIFIC style of crap can be a challenege...) it's incredible.

for this bag, for example, after looking at a lot of the same thing in a lot of different stores, I found one shop that only had a few bags but also had a woman running it (which is not unheard of, but from what I had seen not entirely common) so I figured I would atleast chat for a while.

When I told her I was looking for a bag, she took me to a workroom next store where they had stored a few different styles, and that's where I found mine. it was pretty neat to be able to buy it from (presumably) where it was made...fez is known for their leather. I haven't been to see the tanneries but hope to end up there at some point during my week here.

In other nezs, while i was writing this entry I also managed to get my online registration for the lsat through. and may I say...yikes.
